The Challenge

Discarded spirits, at its core, has a mission to reverse needless waste, by reusing traditionally wasted ingredients to develop their unique range of spirits. In collaboration with stores, they needed a creative sampling campaign that increased brand awareness, whilst exuding their sustainable philosophy and innovative production approach.

The Insight

4 out of 5 people describe themselves as likely to choose a brand with a positive approach to environmental sustainability. In order to capture the attention of potential buyers, their sampling activation needed to avoid waste and represent their brand values in every detail.

The Action

Our Discarded front-of-store sampling stations were deployed in 15 Sainsbury’s stores nationwide during November, showcasing their Discarded Banana Peel Rum.

Inspired by sustainability and a zero-waste brand ethos, each station featured disruptive wheelie bins carrying our ‘waste tastes beautiful’ message, as well as recyclable sampling cups and recycled uniforms for our brand ambassadors.

The Results

6000 samples were shared at an average of 400 samples per day.

Through the sampling, 270 bottles of Discarded Banana Peel Rum were sold.
